In 2026, our campus libraries will be open 24/7.

• Burwood: 2 February onwards – swipe card access at Library entrance, with Level 2 being accessible 24/7 

• Warrnambool: Currently 24/7 - swipe card access at Library entrance, with Levels 1 and 2 being accessible 24/7 

• Waterfront:12 January onwards – swipe card access via Building D (John Hay Building) either from Gheringhap St or Western Beach Rd, with the whole Library (on Level 3 of Building D) being accessible 24/7 

• Waurn Ponds: 12 January onwards - swipe card access at Library entrance, with Level 2 being accessible 24/7 

Our campus libraries will still have dedicated staffed hours – check our Library website for current staffed hours. 

Outside of our staffed hours, our campus libraries will be accessible via swipe card access only with a Deakin Card - you will not be able to enter without your card.

For visitors, including Alumni and Community members, entry into our campus libraries is possible only during our staffed hours.

Collection items located on 24/7 accessible levels can be borrowed via self-checkout machines or the Deakin Borrow app, however access to some collection items may be limited after hours.
